This blog will become a multimedia empire.

I'm trying to figure out YouTube so I can post videos sometimes. Usually of my dogs but I'm sure eventually I'll have something humiliating to share with you, such as the next time I get drunk and decide I'm the newest member of ABBA and dance around the living room singing "Take a Chance on Me" without locking up my camcorder first. People have been known to attempt blackmail on me and I don't blame them. I provide rich material.

So to see if this works, I'm trying to upload and post a clip of my dogs. Bore alert! Just remember, no one's MAKING you click on 'play'. Besides, it's only one minute long. Anyway, it's video I took in 2001 when Sunny was still a puppy, and you need your sound on to fully appreciate the misery she put Digger through on a daily basis. Frankly, I'm amazed he didn't murder her in her sleep long ago.

Thanks SarahK for telling me how to embed it. And my brother for calling me a Ra-tard. HAHAHA. I just listened to it with the sound turned up (I had it down because I was sick of the barking) and I DO sound like a brain injury patient. Don't ask me why, but I speak in foreign accents to Digger (and only Digger for some reason). But I still have no idea what it is I said to him on the video, something like "Ahhh is she done yelling at yoooouuu?" And also, before she gets a bad reputation, Sunny was only 10 months old in the video - she almost never barks now except to warn pit bulls that she's considering killing them.

Hahahahaha. Frank and I were watching the video just now, and Rowdi got up and walked over to my computer doing that head-tilt-back-and-forth thing listening to Sunny bark. Like, "You have dogs in there, ma? Or are they in your lap? Whassup?" And Sunny seems like not-an-alpha, she's too loud, which is awesome, because Rowdi's somewhat alpha, which means they can totally play together! Oh great. Now Rowdi's moping. Hearing dogs must have made her miss playing with dogs. Ya big meanie!

I'm glad you left in the audio. You sound like you've got a speach impediment or a brain injury or something. It's vewy bwave of you to put Ra-tard on the intarwebs.

Your loving brother,

HI, I watched the video of your dogs. Pretty good. That Digger is a hoot. He knows how to keep toys to himself. Where did the laugh track at the end come from? I watched the music video, too. Whick one was you?

RuthB [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I love that song, and Sunny. I can't wait to see more videos of you or the dogs.

Peabody304 [TypeKey Profile Page]:

That was pretty funny.

I always swore that any dog of mine would not be yappy. Until Denali, a dachshund/cocker mix, came along. He loves to bark when he's playing.

Maybe I'll have to post a video of him playing.

Nice video Rachel, I look foreward to seeing more. You should be careful however, letting the dogs play with a land mine is inviting trouble; keep your distance!

I'd like to suggest you check out www.vimeo.com for videos. I find it posts a much nicer video than my videos I posted to youtube. It's just as user-friendly as youtube, and, in fact, I find it to be less frustrating.

I always laugh when I see one dog trying to shut the other one up by sitting on it's head. Too funny.

Cute video.... And yes, you did sound funny, But not like a head injury case, I thought you sounded like a Canadian, with a thick accent. I know you're out west...somewhere... like one of the guys from "Strange Brew"... remember the movie? LOL.. anyhow... that was my impression.

Oh, and... I rather see you get drunk and see this song here...:

What a hoot!! You sound like a Cambodian grandmother fer chrissakes!!
Maybe you were oriental in a previous life?

How cute! I sorta miss the puppy bark. My dog, Nora hardly barks unless she wants to come back inside.
I have a YouTube account with videos of my dog and a friend's dog and of a band that I'm friends with.
The link on my name is to my YouTube account.
Go view my doggie and others, if you desire.
Meh.

Hardliner - THAT song is actually my masterpiece. You don't even KNOW how hard I will rock Dancing Queen. People would pay to see it. hmmmm...now there's an idea...

Allow me to translate:

"Give me the frisbee, give me the frisbee, give me the frisbee, give me the frisbee, give me the frisbee, give me the frisbee.....", etc.

My cat was sitting on my lap while I watched this. She stared intently at the screen for a bit and then jumped on to the desk, poked her nose on the screen, yawned and began grooming herself. I'm sure that would go over well with the two dogs.

LabRat [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Demand-barking AND pawing his head- somebody was a pushy little princess. She probably won't tolerate that from a pup that old down the road, though.

Kodos is lying behind my chair, but he didn't even flick an ear at the noise. He doesn't seem to understand barking of any kind other than alarm/threat and thinks dogs at the park that bark as they play are craaaaaaazy.

My dogs are looking around everywhere trying to find out who is barking! LOL I love playing other dogs on my laptop...it makes for fun entertainment.

I'm always surprised at how gentle older dogs are with puppies. When our Trooper was a puppy he was so obnoxious (still is really) with our older girl and she never once hurt him. It's like they know that they're just annoying puppies and can't help themselves. LOL

Oh No! I created a monster! ;-P

Rook [TypeKey Profile Page]:

That's genius. I got a pretty good laugh out of the accent until I remembered that I speak to people's pets in Japanese.

(By the way, so glad that you're blogging again.)

Oh... as far as "Abba" goes... I didn't much care for the dark headed one, the Blond now, that's another story, I could get into the dark fantasies of pulling hair and slapping ass while doing it doggy style... o_O :-D

But I shant!

ROFLMAO!

Damn, makes me wish I had taken videos of my dogs during similar activities. Charlie used to torment Lucky in much the same way when he was a puppy, and her reaction was pretty much like Digger's. At times he would go out and just bark into the air for no apparent reason, but she would get tired of that and nail him good to shut him up. She wasn't much of a barker (she was over a year old before I ever heard her bark), but Charlie loved to bark. It took the combined efforts of Lucky and a bark collar to get him to chill out and be normal.

When she was still alive it worked great as a 2-stage alerm system at night. Charlie would bark at something and Lucky would raise her head and listen. If she laid back down so would I, but if SHE barked, time to wake up and pay attention!

Creepy accent. Hogan's Hero's?
