Now, hillbillies! Don’t believe your lyin’ eyes.
We have always been at war with Eastasia. We have always been at war with Eastasia.
The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London, a scene that drew criticism on the right and praise from some Arab outlets.
“It wasn’t a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he’s taller than King Abdullah,” said an Obama aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
I can see why this aide wanted to be anonymous, otherwise he’d probably have a new internet meme named after him, something that means “outrageously blatant liar.” Even the biggest Obama-lover cannot possibly view this video and conclude that he didn’t bow, and you would literally have to be BLIND not to see that the “two hands” thing is simply fuckin’ NOT TRUE.
You know who else Obama is taller than? Queen Elizabeth. Did he feel compelled to bow to her for that reason? Nopes. You know who else he’s taller than? Probably 90% of the population, including most of the other world leaders at that summit. Has anyone ever seen him bow at the waist to a full 90 degrees to anyone other than King Abdullah? Um no.
This is so far beyond “spin” that it’s making me dizzy.
I especially love how some of his fans’ only response to this is “But! But! George Bush held hands with the same king! What about that? HUH?!?! ARGHGHGHG!!!” Assholes. Holding hands is a gesture of friendship in Saudi, not a sign of subservience. Oh and by the way, if I recall correctly, conservatives were right pissed off when that happened.
And again, my main point is, if Chimpholster Monkeybubba Bush had done this, it’s all you’d hear about for weeks. The entire Left would have shit their pants, put on a new pair, shit those pants, and repeated this process for about a week.
(In all cautious fairness, though, is it really a “White House denial” when it’s just an anonymous aide? Honest question; wouldn’t want to get all flippy and then find out it’s a hoax or a “misstatement” or whatnot. Because it’s really so fantastically stupid and dishonest that it almost does seem like a hoax.)
It was an all and out bow and no one can convince me otherwise. Its been one embarrasement after another with breaking protocol, and I don’t see an end to it.
April 9th, 2009 at 4:11 amESTI said it in November, I’ll say it again now. This buffoon is gonna make Jimmy Carter look like Thomas F*cking Jefferson.
April 9th, 2009 at 4:30 amESTAn American, any American, bowing to anybody?? We don’t even know how. That Mr. Teleprompter would do this just shows that he knows nothing of America. He may be among us but he is clearly not of us.
But, he is so much smarter than we are. Its good to have a cocksure lying president. yessir
April 9th, 2009 at 4:55 amESTPerhaps Obambi bowed so deeply because he heard the buffet was tasty down there.
April 9th, 2009 at 5:16 amESTI find it puzzling that a committed Christian like our President hasn’t found a church to join in the past 3 months. Why, I was in D.C. just last weekend and there’s a church on every corner, sometimes two! I am sure that one of them would be a good fit for the Obama family if they were interested, that is.
A friend of mine keeps telling me that it’s only a matter of time before he comes out of the Muslim closet and I have been telling her she’s way off base with that, but now, I’m not so sure. That bow was disgraceful in every sense of the word.
April 9th, 2009 at 5:20 amESTI think that the Failed Obama Administration is getting punchy. Someone has to respond to everything. In this case, they should have shut the hell up. There would have been a mild uproar, but it would have passed. Now, they look like bigger and bigger liars.
April 9th, 2009 at 5:30 amESTA friend of mine keeps telling me that it’s only a matter of time before he comes out of the Muslim closet and I have been telling her she’s way off base with that, but now, I’m not so sure.
The way to bet is that he’s not a Muslim. He’s just a shallow and vapid man. Who has dealt with a lot of people but never really associated with people who think differently than he.
April 9th, 2009 at 5:45 amESTHolding hands is a reciprocal act and thus Bush and the King were demonstrating friendship (even if the lefties quickly and hypocritically mocked it by playing up western homosexual connotations of males holding hands).
Obama’s bow was not returned by the King. It was not reciprocal. It is much worse.
April 9th, 2009 at 6:35 amESTAn “anonymous Obama aide”? At last, we know where Baghdad Bob is working these days!
And as for Obama’s religion, he admitted as much with a Freudian slip when he said “my Muslim faith.”
Of course, he hasn’t joined a Washington DC church because he probably can’t find one with a nutcase “minister” like Rev. Wright.

April 9th, 2009 at 6:44 amESTMy lady, you have hit the nail squarely on the head. Because you are a mostly honest person, as are most people here-no one is honest 100% of the time- you cannot conceive of the possibility of someone trying to bend time and space to convince you that something so obviously true is a lie.
You know what the first spin was? Oh, the president dropped something on the floor and was bending over to pick it up. Since even the biggest Obama ass-kissers couldn’t swallow that one, they decided to up the ante.
This reminds me Eddie Murphy’s Raw concert. He talked about how some guys, once they got a woman to make “that sound” in bed, knew that they could get away with anything. He-
I’ll try to keep the filth to a minimum, but considering the source, it will be difficult. I apologize in advance and will take any smackdown you think I deserve.
- mentioned a time that a woman came home unexpectedly and found her husband banging another woman. She started screaming and ran out of the apartment crying. Here is how Eddie Murphy described what happened next:
Eddie Murphy then proceeded to make his version of the woman’s “that noise”.
How is this relevant? To be blunt, so many people have Obama’s weenie in their mouths that they cannot only not wrap their brains around the idea that he might be a complete noob fuckup, they cannot conceive of the very idea of someone pointing out that The Won is a complete noob fuckup. Obviously, Obama is right and it’s the world that’s wrong. And Barry’s handlers know this and therefore feel that they can spin anything, no matter how preposterous, and it will be believed.
Frankly, this hero worship of politicians is normally creepy, but these Obamanoids have kicked it up a notch on the giving me the willies scale. And Barry’s people are taking full advantage of it. Our job is to remind everyone that black isn’t white, that up isn’t down and that Joanie really did like Chachie.
April 9th, 2009 at 6:47 amESTOh he bowed all right. No doubt about it. Jackass.
April 9th, 2009 at 6:51 amEST“It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘bow’ is.”
April 9th, 2009 at 7:04 amESTJay-zus…There’s spin, and then there’s CENTRIFUGE.
Lord, this clown would be entertaining if he wasn’t dragging us down to hell.
April 9th, 2009 at 7:09 amESTnot JUST a bow… there was a ring/hand kiss in there too
April 9th, 2009 at 7:26 amESTAnd all the little leftards went absolutely apeshit when the Saudi king kissed Bush when he greeted him. However, when the king kisses someone on the lips (in the mideast), it is a greeting from one royal person to another of equal rank. When he kisses him on the cheek, it is a greeting to a lesser royal.
April 9th, 2009 at 7:44 amESTBut when someone bows to the king and the king doesn’t bow in return, it is a sign of the subservient obescience of the person bowing. A commoner - if you will - bowing to his royal betters.
All in all - d’ohbama[nmp] should have known that he was not supposed to do that. (Unless, of course, he *was* declaring fealty to the king.)
Has the lightgiver, lord and master of the realm - the obamassiah[nmp] - EVER considered consulting his protocol office? He might want to do that before he embarrasses America any further.
Of course he freakin’ bowed! Inferiority complex and absent-father syndrome leading him to kowtow to exotic daddy figures. The denial was pushed out through an anonymous aide so that the denial could, if necessary, be denied. Next will be some (anonymous) claim that yeah, he bent over like a minion, but it wasn’t really a bow, he was just checking his shoelaces or looking for a lost contact.
I find it puzzling that a committed Christian like our President hasn’t found a church to join in the past 3 months.
He’s actually got a bit of a quandary there. His previous church was a mostly-black church. But he’s not representing a mostly-black district anymore, but the whole nation. If he joins a mostly-white church, he alienates blacks. If he joins a mostly-black church again, he alienates everybody else. And either way, he owns whatever the preacher says–no free passes after the Jeremiah Wright thing.
No doubt he has minions exploring the area churches, trying to find one that’s just right…or maybe he’s really not a churchgoer at all, and was faking it all these years, just using Wright’s church as a political tool.
April 9th, 2009 at 7:45 amESTIf he was using both hands when he bowed - does that mean Obama has three hands? Because you can clearly see the left one hanging by his leg as he bows.
It’s a miracle! Three hands! Someone set up another shrine!
April 9th, 2009 at 7:49 amESTHe hasn’t even been in office for 3 months. Man, this is going to be a LONG 4 years. Even Jimmy Carter wasn’t this bad and he was freaking awful.
April 9th, 2009 at 7:51 amESTI don’t think Obama is a muslum because communists are athiests. He worships power and probably greeted George Soros the same way. Religiom is just another tool to get more power, which is why Jerimiah Wright’s church was useful and getting a new “christian” church would not be. (Much like when Clinton only went to church for the benefit of the cameras rather than his alledged soul.)
Newt Gingrich is saying that G.W.Bush also bowed to the King of Saudi, which is bull. Bush lowered his head so the King could hang a medal on him. Once a month Newt finds a new way to make me dislike him.
April 9th, 2009 at 7:54 amESTis that anything like being mostly dead?
April 9th, 2009 at 8:01 amESTEven Jimmy Carter wasn’t this bad and he was freaking awful.
We didn’t have 24 hour news, streaming video or the internet tubes in the 70s to act as an instant-pundit.
Who knows what happened that we simply didn’t see?
April 9th, 2009 at 8:05 amESTChas. Johnson of Little Green Footballs has gone batshit crazy over this.
He’s convinced that President Bush also bowed to Abdullah because Abby was giving him (Bush) a medal, and the President leaned over so the king could put it over his head.
Totally bugfuck crazy.
April 9th, 2009 at 8:08 amESTUPDATE to above comment:
Tully shoots, he scores! Sometimes I’m so sharp I scare myself.
Seems Obambi also keeps trying to send pro-choice ambassadors to the Vatican, and , and has rejected at least three of them so far. That’s just above and beyond clueless in my book.
April 9th, 2009 at 8:11 amESTWatch the video closely, and you’ll see that he didn’t use his left hand until AFTER he bowed. It’s very clear; bow, while shaking one hand. He brought the second hand into the shake while he was in the process of standing up straight.
Oh, and by the way, when Bush held hands with Saudi royalty, Michael Moore used that in his film as some kind of proof that Bush was complicit with Saudi Arabia in 9/11 or something.
April 9th, 2009 at 8:12 amESTYou folks are being way too hard on the President. Surely he was simply admiring the King’s shoes (slippers?). “Michele would love those on Mother’s Day! Are they from Land’s End?”
April 9th, 2009 at 8:27 amESTSeriously, some days I almost wish I were a Luddite. I wouldn’t bang my head on my desk so often.
It’s going to be a LONG four fucking years.
And yeah N. O’Brain CJ’s completely lost his mind. I check LGF about once a month: Yep, still nuts…move along.
April 9th, 2009 at 9:04 amESTThat’s a curtsy, one doesn’t bend the legs to bow.
April 9th, 2009 at 9:14 amESTI think what’s most frustrating is that for the True Believers of Teh One, they just pretend that nothing is amiss. There is no way to change their minds because they start with the conclusion and dismiss any evidence that doesn’t support it. It’s not about facts but belief. They’ll choose to believe in Obama over their own lyin’ eyes every time.
Not only is Obama an amateur, his “anonymous” aides are also amateurs that can’t even think up a good lie.
The proper way to spin this is that Obama threw out his back in his workout and he just happened to have a back spasm at the very moment he was shaking the kings hand. So, while he did bend at the waist, it wasn’t a bow, just an involuntary muscle spasm.
April 9th, 2009 at 9:16 amESTOver this? I think that you underestimate Mr. Johnson. He went bugfuck crazy some time ago.
April 9th, 2009 at 9:17 amESTWhat really insults me is how utterly stupid they think the public is. Man, they must really, really think we are stupid.
April 9th, 2009 at 9:18 amESTI have it on good authority that he was merely remarking on the beauty of the carpet, which was a gift to the Queen from the House of Saud.
He was made aware of this fascinating detail by the ever-diligent staff at State, who have made every effort to equip him with such useful bits of trivia as:
– Gordon Brown’s love of new technology (was not that clever to give him an excuse to own a multi-regional DVD player? I’m told his wife wouldn’t let him get one before!)
– Prince Philip’s hitherto unfulfilled wish for an iPod (and you thought that iPod was for the Queen — ha!)
– The existence of the nearly extinct Austrian language, which, unlike Romantsch, the ‘quarta lingua’ of Switzerland, had yet to be officially recognized, until the President, with the help of the State Department, rescued it from oblivion.
A great man, Obama!
April 9th, 2009 at 9:26 amESTUh, shouldn’t that read Now, hillbillies! Don’t believe yer lahin’ ahs.
Yes, Obama bowed. Or rather, he bent over. I’m just surprised he didn’t turn around first.
First it was the fleshy protuberance; now it’s serial pants-shitting. I LOVE this blog!
April 9th, 2009 at 9:31 amESTIt’s possible that Obama is not a Muslim currently - but he certainly was during his childhood. His first 10 years he was raised in the Muslim faith and went to prayers with his stepfather.
Whether he is now is open to debate, as in Islam one can never leave (become apostate)without incurring a , his Freudian slip (”my Muslim faith”), his previous pastor’s , and there being no declaration from him out there that I’m aware of where he renounces Allah and Islam in favor of Christianity. (Saying “I’m a Christian could just be a form of taqiya.)
Regardless, as the American President he should bow to NO ONE, as there is NO ONE on the planet who outranks him. A fair number of equals (other heads of state), but no person living who can place themselves above him.
April 9th, 2009 at 9:32 amESTRachel, Rachel.
As long as King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia feels he was bowed to, he can be content his campaign donations are buying him the respect and response he expected. He certainly doesn’t care what lies the Obama-crowd tells the American public.
Every old-style Chicago politician knows, political debts have to be paid. And POTUS Barack Hussein Obama certainly knows which side his bread is buttered on.
Now just start studying your Islam, Sharia Law, and Arabic like a good little socialist. Your POTUS wants your support!
Gack.
April 9th, 2009 at 9:54 amESTThis country elected Obama as president. I think that they have good reason to think that the public is stupid.
April 9th, 2009 at 10:00 amESTTouché!
April 9th, 2009 at 10:03 amESTIf Obama had any actual religious beliefs, he wouldn’t have to base his decision on demographics. He’s a phony, through and through. He only joined Trinity because it was expedient to do so as a rising black politician on the South Side of Chicago. But now that his most loyal supporters are upper-middle-class urban white people, where’s he going to go?
April 9th, 2009 at 10:03 amESTLarry J Says:
He hasn’t even been in office for 3 months. Man, this is going to be a LONG 4 years. Even Jimmy Carter wasn’t this bad and he was freaking awful.
I have NEVER been a fan of Jimmy Carter; my memory of his four years is very painful. Until now, I thought him the WORST President in living memory.
But, as bad as he was, at least he had some real-world experience (submarine commander, farmer, Governor) where you had to make some things work in order to get by.
THAT puts him so far above Obama’s level, he’s almost in the stratosphere.
-
April 9th, 2009 at 10:04 amESTYup. At 55 seconds in, there it is. The mysterious THIRD HAND! My “lahin’ ahs” sawed it, they did.
I love that you used this spelling. “Newb” is a statement of newbie-ness and may or may not be an insult, but “noob” is always an insult. I snickered rudely, I admit.
April 9th, 2009 at 10:14 amESTI’m glad I swallowed my coffee before I read that! I’d have been cleaning my screen and keyboard for sure, otherwise.
As far as I am concerned, the only good thing to come from the Carter presidency was the availability of roasted peanuts in the shell in Michigan grocery stores all year long. They were a seasonal item around here before he was president and when the stores discovered that they would sell, they kept stocking them after he was out of office.
Yes, Obama bowed. Of course his aides lied about it after folks complained. And yes he is a Muslim. He was raised in the Muslim faith for the first decade of his life. It is almost impossible to shake off one’s early training.
I only hope that America manages to resist the worst of the change that he is trying to achieve during his tenure.
April 9th, 2009 at 10:20 amESTBut, as bad as he was, at least he had some real-world experience (submarine commander, farmer, Governor)
Jimmy Carter was an officer in the Navy, and he was in submarines.
But he was never a commanding officer: he separated as Lieutenant while he was training to be the engineering officer of a boat under construction.
April 9th, 2009 at 10:23 amESTBrian Says:
Jimmy Carter was an officer in the Navy, and he was in submarines.
But he was never a commanding officer: he separated as Lieutenant while he was training to be the engineering officer of a boat under construction.
I bow to your correction. But, that STILL leaves him so far above Obama’s real-world experience level that Obama probably couldn’t spot him with binoculars. Just a tiny little dot WAY up in the sky.

April 9th, 2009 at 10:41 amESTI believe the entire spin-doctor creed is based on the elitist belief that the public is stupid. It is a given. Part of manipulating stupid people is playing on their beliefs.
The Republican party is predominantly God-fearing. They have ‘beliefs’ or faith. When there has been a Republican President much spin is based on those beliefs. How many issues and events are needlessly spun so that Christians would be concerned or offended, or conversely spun with anti-Christian ‘intellectual’ overtones.
Now spin doctors have some serious limitations on the ‘belif’ avenues down which they can spin. The public has elected a person that both sides pretty much acknowledge as an ‘intellectual elite’ or an ‘elitist’ (depending on whether you are pro or anti-Obama). One tenet of the elitist is belief in the intellectual (individuals, not God or the system, etc.) to solve problems. Obama has been embraced so completely that the most viable belief a spin-doctor can use to manipulate is belief in Obama himself. That is why many people who believe in God have felt that the ‘Obamassiah’ moniker is apropos. Belief in God has been used positively by the right and negatively by the left for spin the last 8 years. Now belief in Obama himself has been transplanted in to the age-old spins where ‘beliefs’ are the primary manipulation tool.
If belief in Obama fails, there is nothing left. If he is not a true intellectual with all the right answers, all avenues of belief spin are lost and then it gets a lot harder to manipulate even truly stupid people. They have to continue to paint Obama as Superman, hoping he does enough right so the belief is not lost.
Now the part of their creed that people are stupid is the only belief the spin-doctor elites have left… It is kind of like playing the race card. If it is the only card inyour hand, keep playing it and hope for the best.
April 9th, 2009 at 10:43 amESTI’ve always maintained that Barack Obama is not evil. The ultimate consequences of his policies and ideology may be evil, but I’ve always believed that Barack Obama himself at least means well.
I say, Barack Obama is not evil, he’s just monumentally stupid and inexperienced. Bowing to the Saudi king is the act of a man who simply does not know the proper protocol during a meeting between two heads of state. It’s the kind of thing someone who doesn’t know any better would do.
April 9th, 2009 at 10:49 amESTThis turn of phrase should wear quite well over the next few years.
April 9th, 2009 at 10:51 amESTNewest member of the administration: Bagdad Bob.
April 9th, 2009 at 10:56 amESTI’m Obambi’s age and I know more about protocol than he does - and I’m just an armchair political observer. Has he been living in a cave in Chicago all these years? For someone to believe that the US has 57 states, that Austrians speak “austrian,” and all the other gaffs … I agree, he is monumentally stupid!
April 9th, 2009 at 11:05 amESTI’m not bovvered!
April 9th, 2009 at 11:10 amEST…”I believe the entire spin-doctor creed is based on the elitist belief that the public is stupid. It is a given. Part of manipulating stupid people is playing on their beliefs.”

April 9th, 2009 at 11:26 amESTOf course he bowed he is a good Kenyan Muslim bowing to the King who bought and paid for him,as to him saying he is a christian the Koran says that it is alright to lie about your religion if it is to your advantage as a muslim,so now you know and i bet his auntie who is in the USA illegally does not have to leave after all she knows where he was born.
April 9th, 2009 at 11:30 amESTReminds me of the Iraqi Information Minister, “Bagdad Bob”, telling us that there were no US tanks in Bagdad and that they had shot down all the US warplanes while buildings were exploding in the background.
April 9th, 2009 at 12:22 pmESTThis hoax is 79 days old.
April 9th, 2009 at 1:15 pmESTHere’s a half-assed believable lie.
“The President bowed to the Saudi monarch based on advice given by an aide with political ties to the previous administration. The protocol office has not yet been fully transitioned and we regret this incident. The aide has been let go and in the spirit of bi-partisanship we are not releasing his name.”
Requires no proof or evidence as long as they keep their mouths shut.
Was that so hard? These idiots can’t even lie well.
April 9th, 2009 at 1:20 pmESTNot his fault, his TelePrompter told him to.
April 9th, 2009 at 1:22 pmESTOK. Give d’ohbama[nmp] the benefit of the doubt: There were little bitty teleprompters on the king’s shoes, and the type was hard to read; so he just had to get a little closer.
On the other hand, I have to disagree with mighty. I believe that obama[nmp] is monumentally evil; and that he is all-too-aware of the damage his policies and actions will do to America. But I also believe that he’s not smart enough to do anything like this on his own. He’s owned and controlled by other people who want to see America brought low and eventually destroyed. And everything that he does is at their behest.
April 9th, 2009 at 2:23 pmESTDon’t forget about his mother, who by all accounts was a naive all-cultures-are-equal hippie. I think that had a big influence on him.

Yeah, it’s a weak effort. Sue me.
April 9th, 2009 at 2:30 pmESTHe was facing the wrong way.
April 9th, 2009 at 2:59 pmESTLook, it does NOT matter if he is a Muslim or not. We believe in freedom of religion in this country, don’t we? The issue here is not whether or not he’s a Muslim, but whether or not he bowed as a subject is to bow to a foreign leader. And he did. I dun seen it mahself. This is not a courtesy thing, like bowing in Japan (where you both bow equally). The President and Mrs. Obama were right not to bow to the Queen (despite what the Brits may feel about that) and he is WRONG WRONG WRONG for bowing to an equal as if he were a peasant.
Jeez…only 45 months to go….
April 9th, 2009 at 3:01 pmESTaaaaaaaaaand . . . in today’s press briefing.
Un-be-freaking-lievable!
April 9th, 2009 at 3:28 pmESTPerhaps this just needs some Clinton-esque (not the missus) parsing. He may have bowed, but he didn’t scrape.
April 9th, 2009 at 3:36 pmESTYou know, it wouldn’t have been that big a deal to me; anyone paying attention knows that since POTUS is now an entry-level position someone as dim as Barry is going to have a rather steep learning curve. Just say “I fucked up! Won’t happen again” and move on. I could at least (somewhat) respect that. But the denials are just pathetic… they think we really are stupid.
And they are 52% right.
April 9th, 2009 at 3:43 pmESTI think Mrs. Hill has the best take on it. Hopey One Kenobi believes if he says it didn’t happen then it didn’t happen. And if he says Muslims have contributed to shaping our country then they did! No facts necessary. If only he could get in the Way Back machine and have a do-over….

I lived in Saudi Arabia for 2 years, and will say that seeing men holding hands over there took a bit of getting used to for this Texas boy. It is something that friends with equal social status engage in. So, as disgusted as I was seeing George Bush holding hands with that scumbag King of Saudi, it was something that to the eyes of the Arab/Muslim world signified social equality.
Not so the bow. Teleprompter Jesus just signified to the King and to the entire Muslim world that he, and by extension we, are subject of the Saudi throne.
Not this boy. I wouldn’t bow to their royalty when I lived in their country, and certainly won’t do it any other time. It’d be nice if we had a president who felt the same.
